Egg Donor Journey
Your journey as en egg donor has many similarities with the initial stages of the standard IVF cycle. This process is briefly outlines below.
Pre-treatment
Preliminary screening of patients is done along with testing.
To ensure a candidate is suitable for donation, the results of certain blood tests must be assessed together with ultrasound scans to assess the ovaries.
Consultation
The results of the testing and screening is discussed along with your medical history. During this consultation, the egg donation process will be discussed in greater detail.
Counselling
The social aspects of egg donation are discussed and you are counselled on the implications so that you can make a well informed decision.
Consent
An appointment will be made, at which you will be required to sign consent forms. During this appointment, the consent forms will be explained to you by a qualified nurse who will also advise you on the medication you will be taking as well as dosage and administration of the injections.
